Garden Idle game rules
Garden Idle is an idle gardening game: grow crops, harvest them for coins, and reinvest those coins to produce more and more, even while you're away. Here are all the rules, from your first carrot to the Glacier.
🌱 Basics
- Each crop has its own row in the garden. You start with a single carrot.
- Tap a row while it grows to speed it up. When it shines, tap it again to harvest all its plants at once.
- Hold and swipe across several rows to harvest them in a row: each quick harvest raises your combo, up to +100% earnings.
- Plant more with the "Plant" button: every extra plant increases the row's harvest. The x1, x10 and MAX buttons set how many you buy.
- Unlock the next row to discover a new crop, slower but far more profitable.
- Every harvested plant gives experience: your garden level goes up and gives a reward at each level.
📈 Row milestones
- At 10, 25, 50, 100, 250, 500… plants, the row's earnings are doubled.
- At 25, 100 and 250 plants, the row grows twice as fast.
- The small gauge under the crop name shows the next milestone: it's often the best purchase at that moment.
🐝 Helpers
Each row can get a helper that harvests automatically, even when the game is closed: a bee in the Garden, a fennec in the Desert and a penguin in the Glacier. Offline, they work for up to 2 hours (more with the Barn). Helpers harvest in every world, even the one you're not looking at.
🧰 Tools
- Magic watering can: all plants grow 10% faster per level.
- Golden fertilizer: all earnings +25% per level.
- Gardening gloves: each tap makes plants grow a bit more.
- Lucky clover: the golden bee shows up more often and gives more.
- Barn: +1 hour of offline earnings per level.
✨ Bonuses
- Golden bee: it sometimes flies across the garden. Tap it for a coin rain, an instant bloom or a x7 frenzy.
- Daily gift: a reward every day, bigger when you come back several days in a row (streak).
- x2 boost: watch a short (optional) ad to double your earnings for a while. Offline earnings can also be tripled.
📜 Daily quests
Every day brings three new quests: one about progress, one about planting and upgrading, and a small challenge. They adapt to your progress and take about 5 minutes each. Each quest gives coins (doubled with an ad), and the daily chest opens once all three are claimed: a Golden seed and a big coin bonus.
♻️ The Great Compost
- It unlocks at garden level 20.
- Choose what you sacrifice: rows, your coins, your tools. In exchange you get Golden seeds: each one gives +10% earnings forever.
- The bigger the sacrificed production, the more seeds you get. Bonuses stack: x1.15 per row beyond the first, x1.25 for coins, x1.25 for tools and x1.5 if you sacrifice everything.
- What you keep stays intact, but your garden level goes back to 1. Unlocked worlds stay unlocked.
- One Great Compost every 24 hours. Each ad watched from the Compost tab removes 1 hour of waiting.
🏆 Trophies and medals
More than 80 trophies reward your progress: harvested plants, coins earned, full rows, discovered crops, helpers, level, golden bees, combos, Great Composts, worlds, quests and loyalty. Each trophy gives +2% earnings, forever.
Trophies are grouped into 12 families. Each family gives a medal shown on your profile: bronze at 25% of the family's trophies, silver at 50%, gold at 80% and diamond when it's complete.
🗺️ Worlds
Each world opens once you own 25 of the last crop of the previous world (it stays unlocked forever). Expect about half a day per world without boosts. Travel from the world map; coins, tools, level and Golden seeds are shared between all worlds.
1. Garden Available
The starting vegetable patch: carrots, strawberries, tomatoes, corn, sunflowers, pumpkins, magic mushrooms and the crystal flower.
2. Desert Available
A scorching oasis with 8 new crops: flowering cacti, aloe, date palms, golden melons, agaves, peppers, desert roses and the precious oasis lotus. Unlocked with 25 crystal flowers in the Garden.
3. Glacier Available
A land of snow and northern lights with 8 new crops: frostberries, winter kale, snowdrops, blue pines, edelweiss, ice apples, aurora blooms and the mysterious ice heart. Penguins harvest for you there. Unlocked with 25 oasis lotuses in the Desert.
4. Volcano Coming soon
A land of fire where lava peppers and obsidian flowers love the heat. Will unlock with 25 ice hearts in the Glacier.
5. Candyland Coming soon
A sweet kingdom of giant lollipops, marshmallows and cupcakes to grow. Will unlock by completing the Volcano.
6. Cosmos Coming soon
The ultimate garden among planets and stars: weightless star flowers. Will unlock by completing Candyland.
👑 Ranking, profile and saves
- Your game is saved automatically in your browser.
- Pick a nickname to join the ranking. Your score is the total coins earned since you started, Great Composts included.
- Click a player to see their profile: stats, medals and garden.
- Cloud save (in "My profile") lets you get your garden back on another device: enter your email, then the 6-digit code you receive. On the new device, use "Have an account? Sign in" with the same email. Your address is never stored.
💡 Tips
- A row doubles its earnings at 10, 25, 50, 100… plants. Aim for those milestones!
- At 25, 100 and 250 plants the row grows twice as fast.
- Come back every day: the daily gift grows with your streak.
- At garden level 20 the Great Compost unlocks: sacrifice rows, coins and tools to earn Golden seeds (+10% earnings each, forever). The more you sacrifice, the bigger the multiplier! (one Great Compost per day)
- Climb the player ranking by picking a nickname, and collect the bronze, silver, gold and diamond medals shown on your profile.
